Homemade Coleslaw is the perfect creamy and crunchy side dish that is the perfect match for a barbecue! There is never a cookout without this simple-but-delicious salad! The flavors are refreshing with a slightly sweet and tangy taste. The crunch from the shredded cabbage imparts freshness, too.  I usually serve this alongside meaty main dishes and it is perfect for anything grilled or roasted.

Steps

1
Done

Finely shred white and red cabbage. Grate the carrot. Finely chop green onion.

2
Done

Combine the ingredients for the coleslaw dressing.

3
Done

In a bowl, toss the salad then add dressing and mix to combine.

4
Done

For the best quality and flavor, keep the coleslaw covered and refrigerated. It will last 2-3 days in the refrigerator. NOTE: Cabbage does not freeze well, therefore, freezing the coleslaw isn’t a good idea.
